Walter Dennis Sickels (May 7, 1951 - October 31, 2014) was the adopted son of Alice Lee Brady.

Walter Dennis Sickels was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on May 7, 1951, to Clarence Sickels and Peggy Sickels Young. After many attempts to run away he finally succeeded in 1958 when his family and him moved to Sherman, Texas. In 1964, kicking and screaming, they again moved him, but this time to Arlington, Texas, where he remained until graduating from high school and marrying for the first time. In 1965 he found his adopted birth city, New Orleans, LA. He learned the phrase "Laissez les von temps rouler," let the good times roll. And some would say he learned it a bit too well. He moved to New Orleans in 1974, fulfilling his dream of living in a Disneyland. Wanting to experience nature, he moved from New Orleans to Westcliffe, Colorado, in 1987, buying a saw mill and becoming Paul Bunion. As life continued, he returned to Texas in 1994 to be closer to my family. He found Galveston, one of the best-kept secrets as a destination and made this his last home.

He met his husband, Randy Elwood, in 2005. They legally married in Washington D.C. in 2013, marking a milestone he would have not thought possible in his younger years.

Walter Dennis Sickels passed away peacefully at his residence on October 31, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
